RUNWAY SS 2014 Undercover Reconstructed Coat

This interesting piece of outerwear from Spring 2014 Undercover ‘Psychocandy’ collection is a remarkable example of Jun Takahashi’s ability to reconstruct and ‘combine’ two different garments into one dynamic piece. It is made from a sleak, tailored blazer, which has a sewn-on underlayer of knitwear that extends out of the sleeve and bottom hem. The dark color palette, distressing details, and raw hems featured on the piece harken the 80’s rock band ‘The Jesus and Mary Chain’, who this collection was inspired by.
